Rain Series
These paintings were born while sitting in my old basement studio looking through the blurry, rain soaked window. As someone who gains so much from new adventures, sitting in the same room everyday during quarantine had left me a bit lacking in inspiration. Yet as I sat there staring through the window, I decided to paint exactly what was in front of me. I was fascinated by the way the rain distorted the yard outside and the colors blurred together abstracting the normally clear view. It was a simple reminder that there is beauty available in the present moment, even when the path ahead may be unclear. So this is a gentle reminder to myself (& anyone else who needs it), the present moment is filled with joy & if I am attentive enough, I will see it. ~ Inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh, “Peace is Every Step”
